Piercing Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential for the healing and maintenance of your new piercing. Follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth healing process and avoid complications:
CLEANING
1. Clean Your Hands: Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing

2. Clean the Piercing: Clean your piercing twice a day using a saline solution, like Base Laboratories Hypochlorous Acid Spray or Saline Spray. Avoid using alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or other harsh chemicals or oils. These can be too drying.


GENERAL TIPS

Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching or twisting the jewelry unnecessarily. This can introduce bacteria and cause irritation

Keep it Dry: Pat the area dry with a clean, disposable paper towel after cleaning. Avoid using cloth towels, as they can harbor bacteria.

Be Mindful of Hair Products: Avoid getting shampoo, conditioner, or other hair products on your piercing. This can cause irritation on fresh piercings.

What to Avoid: Avoid swimming for the first 6 weeks. Avoid unnecessary touching or playing with the jewelry for the first 6 weeks.
HEALING

What to expect: It's normal for a new piercing to be red, tender, and slightly swollen for the first few days.

Infection: Watch for signs of infection, such as excessive redness, swelling, pain, yellow or green discharge, or fever. If you suspect an infection, contact a healthcare professional.

Downsize: Schedule a downsize appointment within the 8-week healing period to replace the initial longer post with a shorter one that fits your anatomy better.
